ABOUT MAKE IT HOLLYWOOD
Bridging the Gap Between Ambition and Opportunity
Make It Hollywood is all about giving aspiring TV hosts, reporters, and media talent the real-world experience they need to break into the entertainment industry—without breaking the bank. We offer free or low-cost, hands-on opportunities where people can build professional reels, sharpen their skills, and connect with others in the industry. Whether it’s working the red carpet, hosting a podcast, or anchoring the news, we create spaces where talent can grow without the usual Hollywood gatekeeping.
Our Story
Make It Hollywood is the brainchild of Rae Williams, an award-winning entertainment journalist, TV host, and author who knows firsthand the struggles of breaking into the industry without financial privilege or connections. An immigrant to the U.S., Rae moved to Los Angeles with no job, no prospects, and nothing but a reel cobbled together from her time on Jamaican television. Determined to succeed, she navigated the industry’s red tape, financial hardships, and countless closed doors until she secured a coveted role as a local news reporter in Los Angeles—the second-largest media market in the U.S.—at a top TV network.
Through her journey, Rae saw how talented, hardworking individuals were being locked out of the industry simply because they couldn’t afford the high costs of professional training, reels, or networking opportunities. The entertainment world, especially in Los Angeles, can feel impossible to break into without the right access.
That’s why she created Make It Hollywood—a first-of-its-kind media incubator designed to give aspiring TV hosts, reporters, and media talent free or low-cost, real-world experiences to build their reels, sharpen their skills, and step into the industry with confidence. More than just training, Make It Hollywood is a movement to break down barriers, create opportunities, and change the face of media by championing diverse voices that deserve to be heard.
By offering hands-on experiences, financial support, and a community-driven path to success, Make It Hollywood is proving that access and opportunity—not just money and connections—should determine who gets to thrive in entertainment.
